Swim Video Analysis



Swimming is the most technical of the 3, disciplines of triathlon! The quickest way to improve your swimming is to see what you are doing wrong and right then work on drills and techniques to perfect your stroke.

Capturing your stroke from 4, angles:

From the side above the water
From above looking down
From the side under the water
From the front under the water

We then analyse your stroke in slow motion breaking it down and highlight ways in which improvements can be made. We can also drop in professional swimmers to see how your stroke differs but more importantly showing you what you can do to increase your swim speed! Using the Swim Smooth coaching and training principles we will show you drills and swim training equipment you can utilise in your training sessions to get the perfect stroke technique that suits you and the type of racing you are doing.

We offer 2, Swim Video Analysis packages and these can be run at our local venue or we can come to you! If you are part of a club and want us to come and work with your athletes then get in touch.

1 to 1 Swim Video Analysis 120mins (60mins Pool time)

15 – 20mins prior to getting in the pool we will sit down and get to know about your swimming/triathlon back ground and what your goals are going forward.

60mins of pool time! You will get in the pool and warm up whilst you are warming up we will make notes on your swim style; calculate your Strokes Per Minute (SPM). We will then ask you to swim 4 lengths of the pool capturing your stroke from the side above the water, from above, from the side underwater and finally from the front under the water!

We will then look at your video together where we will highlight areas of improvement, skills and drills that you should be concentrating on and generally where the biggest improvements and time gains can be made!

You will then jump back into the pool and put into practice the skills and drills which have been suggested and if necessary we will carry out a stroke rate ramp test to get you swimming at the correct stroke rate.

On completion of the pool session we will sit down and discuss again how to improve your swimming and to reach your goals with specific swim training sets.

You will receive a copy of your video analysis along with all of the critique points and suggestions on how to improve your swimming fitness and style moving forward. This will be copied onto a memory stick and posted out to you.
